20th century Goliath watch in travelling case

20th century Goliath watch in travelling case
Circa 1915
A late 19th century Swiss jewelled lever escapement Goliath watch housed in its original silver and velvet case.

The silver fronted travelling case is hallmarked London 1915 RB. These initials are for Sir Richard Burbridge, who was chairman of Harrods.
The whole is supported on a rear hinged strut. Nickel cased with adjustment push pieces for the calendar and surmounted by hanging bow and knurled winding crown. The white enamel dial with bold black roman numeral, subsidiaries for month, date and days of the week, the subsidiary seconds with inset rolling moon phase indication.
This watch is in good condition with small signs of wear and tear as can be expected of a watch of this period.

The watch has been fully serviced and is running well and keeps good time. The date functions work well. We expect a clock of this period to keep within +/- 6 minutes per day and will require winding and setting twice a week.
