A fine example of Blue John of the George III period. This stem cup or goblet raised on a black Ashford marble plinth
has a beautiful radiating crystalline structure which is exceptional, and makes this article highly desirable.
The largest deposits of the Blue John veins almost disappeared by the early 19th century.
Mined in Derbyshire near the village of Castleton.
